In many of today’s airtight homes, indoor air quality has turned into a concern. In our attempt to make homes more energy efficient, we have inadvertently made them so airtight that indoor air stays trapped inside a home with nowhere to go.

It’s not uncommon for indoor air to contain impurities such as mold, mildew, pollen, and animal dander to name a few. To complicate matters, many of these contaminants are re-circulated by a home’s central air system that can aggravate asthma or other types of allergies.

MetFab Heating has taken a special interest in combating poor indoor air quality. We offer a number of solutions that can make a noticeable difference almost overnight.

These include:

·Duct Cleaning:  Most people have asked us to do duct cleaning because of certain allergens.  It is not uncommon for doctors to recommend this procedure as well.  New homebuyers buying older homes are also interested in duct cleaning, as they do not want to be exposed to foreign or unknown particles from the previous owners. After remodeling is also a good time as there are a lot of dust and particles in the duct system.

·Electronic Air Cleaners:  This usually entails equipment that easily slides into ductwork and filters out smaller particulates.  See our Carrier and Honeywell line for more information. It’s often a good idea to install these devices after you have a home duct cleaning.
