>>DUCTLESS HEAT PUMPS
|
Ductless heat pumps (DHP) are the “new electric heat”. Studies have shown that adding them to homes with electric resistance heat (wall heaters, baseboard, and ceiling or floor cable) reduce customer heating costs by 30% to 50%. They can save 15-20% over traditional ducted heat pump systems where the ducts are run in unheated space.
The installation cost of DHPs are substantially less than installing a ducted systems and their flexibility make them a low impact answer for most any heating and cooling need: residential and commercial additions; new construction; computer and conference rooms. They are so quiet that they can be used in churches and home theaters. Remote controls make operations easy.
MetFab Heating features installation of Daikin and Mitsubishi equipment. Both have environmentally-friendly R-410 refrigerant and inverter-type, variable-speed compressors that operate from 20% of capacity to over 100% for short periods. Some outdoor units will handle multiple indoor units for precise zoning.
Clark Public Utilities is now offering $1500 rebates DHPs installations qualifying for the Northwest Ductless Heat Pump Demonstration Project (see below). With typical costs of a single zone systems only $4000 to $5000 the payback is quick. Our sales estimator, Jerry Sutherland, has been a leader in introducing DHPs to Clark County (see Columbian link in side bar) and is very familiar with this program and can guide you through the process.
